Civility and rationality are overrated. These words are a just another way for the powerful to tell the outraged masses to shut the hell up. And yet our form of government demands that we speak. Speak truth to the powerless, to each other, because, as Prof. Chomsky says, the powerful already know the truth. They are creating the outrageously crappy reality we are living with.

Jefferson hoped that his citizenry would preserve the "spirit of resistance." Orwell told us that "every joke is a revolution." Richard Pryor tells us, “When you ain't got no money, you gotta get an attitude.”

Resistance through ridicule. It's fun, and it's good for you, too.
